The Potential Risks of Forex and Cryptocurrency Trading

Trading foreign currencies (Forex) and digital currencies (Cryptocurrencies) is challenging.  Like any financial investment opportunity where there is potential for profit there is risk of loss.  Before you decide to participate you must carefully weigh your investment objectives, and consider your level of acceptable risk based upon your experience, resources, knowledge, financial condition and goals, amount of risk capital, etc.  The loss of capital can be greater than your initial investment due to leveraging.  Never risk money that you cannot afford to lose.

Economic conditions change constantly and without warning.  Changing economic conditions anywhere in the world can have an effect on world currency markets, Forex, and cryptocurrencies.  Due to the speculative nature of foreign currency and cryptocurrency trading and investing, the risk of loss is great.  Prices tend to change rapidly and the use of leverage can magnify any profit or loss in any trading account.  Trading should only be undertaken when the risks are properly assessed and known.  The advice of a qualified financial advisor should be sought prior to making any investments.

Tradingsmartmoney.com and its owners, employees, affiliates, partners, etc. are not licensed financial advisors and  we do not give specific investment advice.  We provide general trading education.  Each client is soley responsible for their own trading activities and actions.

SIMULATED TRADING

During the process of trader education all trades will be made on a simulated or “demo” account.  These trades will result in a hypothetical or simulated profit or loss for education purposes so the student can gain an understanding of the nature of trading.  No real funds will be risked during this process.  These trades do have limitations.  Using real capital may result in different outcomes.  There are many factors at work in a financial market at any given time such as number of participants, volume, liquidity, time of day, etc. which may affect the outcome of any individual trade.  Individual results will vary.  Past performance cannot accurately predict with certainty any future results.  Trading results are unpredictable and cannot be guaranteed.

CFTC Rule 4.41

“These results are based on simulated or hypothetical performance results that have certain inherent limitations. Unlike the results shown in an actual performance record, these results do not represent actual trading. Also, because these trades have not actually been executed, these results may have under-or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity.  Simulated or hypothetical trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight.  No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to these being shown.”
